Art on the River and More This Weekend in the White Lake-Highland Area

1. Art on The River Festival

• When: Saturday, July 20, 2013, 11:00 AM
• Where: Byer's Homestead Park, 213 Commerce Rd & Carroll Lake Rd., Commerce
• What: The second annual Huron Valley Council for the Arts’ Art on the River Festival, scheduled for Saturday, July 20, features fun for all ages at Byers Homestead in Commerce, 213 Commerce Road. Admission, parking and all day shuttle service to and from off-site parking is free. Exceptional local artistic talent will be featured in a Michigan arts and craft market as well as demonstrated by artists utilizing their skills on-site, which include candle making, plein air painting, blacksmithing, pottery, weaving and spinning. “The market’s focus will be original work by Michigan artists, which is in line with the mission of the HVCA to connect Michigan artists with the public in order to bring the arts to life,” said Leah Ohmer, HVCA executive director. “The event is designed to bring a feeling of community to Commerce Township at a cherished community location,” Ohmer added. Artists participating represent the communities of Beverly Hills, Brighton, Clinton Twp., Commerce Twp., Dearborn Hgts., East Lansing, Farmington and Farmington Hills, Fenton, Fowlerville, Garden City, Grosse Pte. Farms,  Highland Twp.,  Holly, Howell,  Lambertville, Linden, Milford, Oakland Twp., Swartz Creek, West Bloomfield and White Lake Twp.

2. Lakeland Junior Varsity Pom Pon Car Wash

• When: Saturday, July 20, 2013, 9:00 AM
  
• Where: White Lake Middle School
• What: LAKELAND JUNIOR VARSITY POM PON CAR WASH (FUNDRAISER) AT WHITE LAKE MIDDLE SCHOOL, WHITE LAKE, MI. COME GET YOUR CAR WASHED AND HELP SUPPORT THE LAKELAND JUNIOR VARSITY POM PONS!!  WHILE YOU ARE GETTING YOUR CAR WASHED, YOU CAN CHECK OUT THE WHITE LAKE FARMER'S MARKET!!

3. McBiker McDonald’s 15th Annual Motorcycle Rally Charity Event

• When:  Sunday, July 21, 2013, 9:00 AM
• Where: 5854 Highland Rd., Waterford
• What: Motorcycle enthusiasts are invited to support the Ronald McDonald Houses of Ann Arbor and Detroit on Sunday, July 21 for the McBiker McDonald’s 15th Annual Motorcycle Rally. The event, a 100-mile round trip ride through some of southeast Michigan’s best motorcycle roads, hosts an average of 500 motorcyclists every year. Registration will begin at 9 a.m. and runs throughout the day at McBiker McDonald’s, 5854 Highland Road, Waterford. The rally will end at the Shark Club, Waterford at M-59, west of Airport Road at 4 p.m. Registration is $25 and includes an after party with a delicious buffet, auction and raffle prizes. The Ronald McDonald Houses provide a home-away-from-home for families of children who are seriously ill and hospitalized nearby.
