Biggby Coffee Co-CEO Mike McFall Launches New Business Book

"Grind: A No-Bullshit Approach to Take Your Business from Concept to Cash Flow" will be available nationally on Tuesday, Aug. 6

Few success stories are as compelling as that of an everyday guy who transformed from a barista (who literally poured the milk and ground the beans) into the co-CEO of a $100 million coffee empire. Mike McFall has transformed his lessons learned building the Biggby Coffee franchise into a new book for entrepreneurs called “Grind: A No-Bullshit Approach to Take Your Business from Concept to Cash Flow,” available nationally on Tuesday, Aug. 6.

“Grind” is not a get-rich-quick guide and it does not sugar-coat the level of dedication, personal due-diligence and consistent commitment needed to create a cash flow. It is part motivational and part manual with practical bullet point tips, examples of executive work schedules and how-to guides that will help an entrepreneur build the habits and the positive mindset needed to navigate the many challenges of launching a new business.

“Most of the business books I read are not inspiring because they do not capture the essence of what it is like to build a start-up company,” McFall said. “They are mostly written by either ultra-successful executives with nine figure incomes and private jets or else by academics who are studying entrepreneurship. I wanted to write when I was still in the midst of the hustle, where I can share business stories that are fresh and real.”

“Grind” is the first of a planned four book series that will follow McFall’s journey through entrepreneurship from the beginning stages through corporate growth, leadership and giving back. It will be published on Tuesday, Aug. 6 and available through Amazon.com and major booksellers nationwide. For more information, visit www.grindthebook.com.

Biggby Coffee was originally founded in 1995 in East Lansing with McFall and his partner Bob Fish at the helm as co-CEOs. The success of the first store drove the team to launch a franchise in 1999, and today the company has more than 250 locations in 9 states around the country.
