First Jon Smith Subs Restaurant in Michigan Opens in White Lake

Overstuffed, mouthwatering subs make greater Detroit-area debut

Craving larger-than-life subs jam packed with flavor that just melt in your mouth? Jon Smith Subs, the locally loved sub shop committed to serving the highest quality marinated grilled sirloin steak, chicken breast and fresh giant deli subs recently opened its first restaurant in the state of Michigan and greater Detroit area on Monday, February 15 and is located at 8178 Cooley Lake Rd in the new Four Corners Square in White Lake, MI. The restaurant features a large selection of indulgent grilled and deli subs that are complimented by award-winning made-to-order fries.

The Jon Smith Subs in White Lake is owned and operated by Abe Ahmed, a locally based entrepreneur who also owns other business ventures in the area. This will be the first of five locations opening in the greater Detroit area by Ahmed.

To celebrate the opening, the restaurant will host Sub-a-Palooza a Grand Opening Celebration the week of March 1 which will include chances to win prizes like free subs for a year and free kid’s meals while also taking advantage of special promotions throughout the week. The restaurant will also host a charity give back day on Wednesday, March 3 to benefit Foundation for Excellence-Walled Lake Schools where 50% of sales for the day will go back to the organization to help address critical areas of learning for K-12 students, such as literacy by putting more books in the hands of students and shoring up the social & emotional needs of their students.

“We are thrilled to be opening our first location in the White Lake area and look forward to offering the community a fresh alternative in the sandwich category with of our specialty subs,” said franchisee Abe Ahmed. “Our approach to every aspect of the Jon Smith experience — from the hospitality of our team to our scratch-made bigger portion subs with made-to-order fries, freshly-baked bread and big flavors — is that guests can see and taste the difference.”

At Jon Smith Subs, everything is prepared in-house with fresh ingredients and the bread is baked on-site daily. The fan favorite Steak Bomb comes with a heaping portion of marinated sirloin steak, grilled onions, peppers, mushrooms, bacon, tomatoes, and provolone cheese. If a deli sub is your delight then the popular Italian Cold Cuts with Genoa salami, pepperoni, capicola with provolone is for you!

All subs are available served in a bowl as a gluten free option and fresh salads are also offered as well as smaller portion subs for kids!

Local favorite sandwiches such as the beloved The Reuben and other specialties like The Gator, Hot Pastrami and Cajun Chicken all offer something for the most discriminating sandwich lover. Whether it is lunch, dinner, a family or company event, Jon says, “bring your big mouth, love local and eat delicious”.

Jon Smith Subs serves lunch and dinner from 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday, 10:30 a.m. – 10 p.m. on Saturday and 11 a.m.-8pm on Sunday. The newly constructed 1,200-square-foot restaurant offers seating for about 28 guests and complimentary Wi-Fi.
