Huron Valley School Calendar 2017-18: First Day Of School, Vacations, Conferences

The first day of school in Huron Valley is September 5. Feel free to mark it on your calendar as one of the most dreaded days of the year for students and teachers — and feel free not to feel guilty about marking it as one of your favorites. The Huron Valley School District has released its 2017-2018 calendar for public schools.

The calendar includes important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.

• 8/29: No School for Students - Teacher Report Day - Professional Development - Full Day
• 8/30: No School for Students - Teacher Work Day - Professional Development – Full Day

September

• 9/5: First Full Day of Schools for Students

October

• 10/6: Half Day for Students - Professional Development

November

• 11/3: Half Day for Students - Professional Development
• 11/7: No Schools in Session – Election Day
• 11/22: No Schools in Session
• 11/23 - 11/24: No Schools in Session - Thanksgiving Holiday

December

• 12/8: Half Day for Students - Professional Development / Records
• 12/25 - 1/5: No Schools in Session - Winter Holiday Break - (December 22 is last day of school)

January

• 1/8: School Resumes - All Schools in Session
• 1/15: No Schools in Session - Martin Luther King, Jr. Day
• 1/19: Half Day for Students - Professional Development / Records

February

• 2/19 - 2/20: No Schools in Session - Mid-Winter Break

March

• 3/9: Half Day Students - Professional Development
• 3/30 - 4/6: No Schools in Session - Spring Break - (March 29 is last day of school)

April

• 4/9: School Resumes - All Schools in Session

May

• 5/28: No Schools in Session - Memorial Day

June

• 6/15: Last Day Students and Staff (Half Day Students – PM Half Day / Records for Teachers)
