Make memories to last a lifetime at the 22nd annual Milford Memories Summer Festival, August 9-11, 2013. This treasured summer tradition draws people from around the region to enjoy art, live music, great food and family fun throughout the charming village of Milford.

The highlight of the three-day festival is Art in the Village, a juried show featuring fine arts and crafts made by more than 270 artists from throughout the United States and Canada. Hours for Art in the Village are 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Friday; 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Saturday; and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday.

Other must-sees include the Cold Butt Euchre Tournament, Blind Canoe Race, and Civil War Encampment complete with infantry cannon and Williams Gun demonstrations.

New this year is a Sanddiggers Volleyball Tournament on Saturday, featuring four-person teams in four divisions — high school, women’s open, men’s open and coed open. Got game? Register by Aug. 2 to secure your spot and T-shirt.

Also new this year, Milford Memories adds a 10-mile course to its popular Milford Memories Run, long known for its 1-Mile Fun Run, 5K and 10K options.

For children, the festival offers an activity tent, Kids Triathlon, fishing tournament, fire house and rock wall. Back by popular demand, a 3-on-3 basketball tournament that was a hit when it debuted last year has been expanded to allow more teams.

When it comes to entertainment, free live music rocks three stages throughout the weekend. Acts include the Dan Rafferty Band, Powerplay, $2 Highway, Jennifer Westwood and Waycross Georgia Farmboys, Gia Warner, Kids Who Cried Wolf, and Blues Syndicate.

Milford Memories is hosted by the Huron Valley Chamber of Commerce and made possible by more than 500 volunteers. The Festival Committee works on the event year ’round and includes several members that have been planning Milford Memories for 10 years, along with a few who have been on board since the first festival in 1991. Many local non-profits send groups of volunteers to help the festival and raise money for their organizations.
