Runestad resolution declares Chaldean American Day in Michigan

LANSING, Mich. — The Michigan Senate on Thursday approved a bipartisan resolution offered by Sen. Jim Runestad declaring April 11, 2019 as Chaldean American Day in the state of Michigan.
Senate Resolution 32 was prepared in coordination with the Chaldean Community Foundation and the Chaldean American Chamber of Commerce. A luncheon and presentation for members of the legislature was also held at the Capitol.
“It is an honor to author this resolution and to sponsor the Chaldean Legislative Day at the Michigan state Capitol and welcome our Chaldean friends and neighbors for a celebration of their contributions to Michigan’s economy and culture,” said Runestad, R-White Lake.

The event brought together Chaldean cultural and business leaders, including members of the Chaldean Community Foundation and Chaldean American Chamber of Commerce and state representatives and senators.
