Blaze Kills One Child Critically Injures Another
Children found without any adult supervision when fire tears through two-story townhouse in Romulus

A one-year old girl was killed and her three-year old brother remains in critical condition after a fire ripped through a two-story townhouse in Romulus Sunday afternoon.
According to a WXYZ-TV report, Romulus Fire Department officials said the two children were in a bedroom on the second floor of the townhouse, located in the 15000 block of Mountain Way, when fire fighters found them.
First aid and CPR was performed on both children at the scene, officials said.
The children were transported to William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak where the young girl was later pronounced dead
The boy is listed in critical condition.
Police say the children were found in the home without any adult supervision.
The children’s mother arrived on the scene before first responders left and was arrested by Romulus police on child endangerment charges.
The cause of the blaze is still under investigation.
