WYANDOTTE, MI — A member of the Detroit Lions is thanking health care workers on the front line of the ongoing battle against the new coronavirus at Henry Ford Wyandotte Hospital Thursday.
Wide receiver Marvin Jones Jr. and his wife, Jazmyn, are donating food trucks and baked goods to hospital staff.
“We are so inspired by the courage shown by the men and women on the front lines across our nation," the couple said in a statement. "They work tirelessly to do all that they can to help and care for the people while risking their own health.

"Being business owners ourselves, we too would like to extend our deepest appreciation to the food companies that are providing our heroes with the meals that they deserve during this rough time," the statement continues. "Let’s continue to join together in arms and do what we can to fight this fight and become stronger as one."
The couple also created a video thanking the staff at Henry Ford Wyandotte Hospital, which was shared internally with employees.

The food trucks will be providing 1,000 meals to hospital employees. In addition, 250 cakes will be donated from the Jones’s Nothing Bundt Cakes store in Troy. The participating food trucks are Delectable, Stix and Stone, Mean Weenie and Brass Kitchen.
The trucks will be parked in Lot C, located just south of the hospital’s courtyard area, where they will dish out lunch offerings to the day shift employees from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and dinner choices to the evening staff from 8-9 p.m.
A safe environment will be provided by the hospital staff to ensure that social distancing is maintained while employees enjoy the donated mobile culinary offerings, the hospital said in a news release.
Earlier this month, Lions head coach Matt Patricia and players donated food trucks that served employees at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit through the Detroit Lions Inspire Change initiative, a program launched by Patricia and Martha Firestone Ford, the team's owner.
