Massive $18.6M Carhartt Expansion Will Create Hundreds of New Jobs

The Dearborn-based company plans to nearly double its workforce.

In a time of wavering economic stability, Dearborn’s Carhartt, Inc. is pressing forward steadfast.

More than 200 jobs will be created thanks to an $18.6 million, 60,000 square foot expansion of the work clothing producer’s headquarters facility, reports Press & Guide. The expansion will be made possible, in part, by a $1.4 million grant awarded Tuesday by the Michigan Strategic Fund.

The expansion will help give way to innovation research and product development, among other benefits according to Linda Hubbard, president and chief operating officer of Carhartt.
