Riverside High School Teacher Could Face Discipline at Board Meeting

Donald Ukrainec has been on paid administrative while the district investigates claims he assaulted a student in February.

The Thursday meeting for the Riverview School District’s Board of Education could deal with disciplining a high school teacher accused of assaulting a student earlier this year, according to a News-Herald report.

Donald Ukrainec, a computer-aided design and business teacher at Riverview Community High School, has been on paid administrative while school officials investigated a Feb. 13 incident involving the teacher, the report stated. The Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office denied a warrant in the case in April, the report added.

Although the exact details have not been revealed, it is thought the incident is connected to a “free hug day” at the school, the report stated

The meeting is at 6 p.m. Thursday, June 4, in the board’s conference room, 13425 Colvin St., the report stated.
