In Wayne County, Olympic Flame Burns Early
Children ages 5 and younger will be put to the test in the customized Nursery School Olympics.
An upcoming event gives children ages 5 and younger a chance to win medals in games patterned after some of those in the official Olympic Games.
The Nursery School Olympics begins at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 4, at Elizabeth Park, located on West Jefferson, south of West Road in Trenton. The event is free.
Some of the events include: marshmallow shot-put, miniature golf, diaper derby, paper plate discus, toddler trot, and big wheel grand prix (children must bring their own wheels). At the end of the games, parents and their children will march in the red, white and blue parade. Each child will receive a participation medal.
