Boundary Waters Is 5th Most Relaxing Place In The World: Study
A new study ranks Minnesota's BWCA as one of the most relaxing spots in the world. You can listen to sounds from each place in the report.
BOUNDARY WATERS, MN — A new interactive study recently ranked the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness in Minnesota as the fifth most relaxing place in the world.
Unify Cosmos, a meditation website dedicated to focusing on the positive aspects of everyday life, released a "Most Relaxing Sounds in the World" study on Monday.
Unify Cosmos included 50 destinations in its rankings and put together the list by using search volume data to find the places that had the most searches for "relaxing spots." The meditation website then created a soundboard of a calming sound from each 50 destinations.

Here are the top 10 relaxing destinations, according to Unify Cosmos.
- Yosemite (California), United States
- Onda Beach, Dominican Republic
- Jokulsarlon, Iceland
- Aegean Islands, Greece
- The Boundary Waters (Minnesota), United States
- Siargao Island Beach, Philippines
- Mount Fuji, Japan
- Nova Scotia Shores, Canada
- Makena Beach (Hawaii), United States
- Tatra Mountains, Poland
"Take a second to close your eyes, breathe in these sounds of nature, and dream a little, regardless of where you are — because listening to crashing waves, or birds in the trees can bring many others things to your life," David Foley, the owner of Unify Cosmos, said in a news release.
