"The last hostage that was being held took his chance and made a run for the door," St. Cloud Police Chief Blair Anderson said at a news conference.

"As he was running towards the door, both tactical units, ours from the St. Cloud Police Department and the FBI tactical unit made a simultaneous entry and took the suspect into custody without incident."

The suspect has been involved in violent crimes in the past and was due in court Thursday for one of those offenses, police said. Authorities are discussing whether the case should be handled in state or federal court, according to FOX 9.
