Freighter Runs Aground In Duluth Harbor, Nearly Crashes: Watch

DULUTH, MN — An enormous cargo ship came feet from crashing into the break wall in Duluth's Canal Park Sunday. The American Spirit, a 1,004-foot vessel transporting iron ore pellets, was attempting to turn out of the harbor when it hit the surface.
"The incident is under investigation by the U.S. Coast Guard Marine Safety Unit Duluth," a port authority spokesperson told Minnesota Public Radio. "They've received no reports of injuries at this time."
