Minnesota Foreclosure Filings See Year-Over-Year Increase: Report

While still relatively low, the foreclosure rate in Minnesota for January 2018 saw an increase when compared to the previous year.

Foreclosure activity in the U.S. decreased on a year-over-year basis in January while increasing seven percent from December, according to ATTOM Data. Minnesota was one of the few states that countered the national trend and had a year-over-year increase in foreclosure filings.

According to ATTOM, 12 states and the District of Columbia had an increase, including Minnesota. In the Land of 10,000 Lakes, foreclosure activity was up nearly four percent year-over-year. Minnesota had the 36th highest foreclosure rate.

In January 2018, there were 690 foreclosure filings in the state. One in every 3,644 properties had a foreclosure filing.
