MN Store Closings: 17 Justice, Ann Taylor, LOFT Shuttering
The parent company of Ann Taylor, LOFT, Lane Bryant, Cacique and other brands is closing more than 1,000 stores.
MINNESOTA — Clothing retail company Ascena, parent to lines like Justice, Lane Bryant, Ann Taylor, Loft, Catherine's, Lou & Grey and Cacique has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
The bankruptcy came Thursday alongside an announcement that Ascena plans to close about half of its 2,800 stores, including 76 Ann Taylor, LOFT and Lou & Grey stores, more than 600 Justice stores and all Catherine's plus-size clothing store locations. All locations outside the U.S. will also close.
The closures include two Ann Taylor stores, one Ann Taylor Factory store, one LOFT Outlet and 13 Justice stores in Minnesota.

The Ann Taylor stores at Southdale Center in Edina and Ridgedale Center in Minnetonka will close, according to Business Insider, along with the Ann Taylor Factory store and the LOFT Outlet store at Albertville Premium Outlets.
Disrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic, the company said the last few months negatively impacted "meaningful progress" toward getting the company back on track financially.

According to USA today, the closings include 13 Justice stores across Minnesota. The "tween" clothing store, which caters to girls ages 6 to 12, has more than 800 stores across the country.
According to USA today, Minnesota Justice locations slated for closing are:
- Burnsville: 2061 Burnsville Center
- Coon Rapids: 12761 Riverdale Blvd., Suite 103
- Duluth: 1600 Miller Trunk Hwy., Sp J09
- Eagan: 3905 Eagan Outlets Parkway, Suite #225
- Eden Prairie: 8251 Flying Cloud Drive, Suite 2018
- Mankato: 1850 Adams St., Space 314
- Maple Grove: 12421 Elm Creek Boulevard
- Medford: 6750 W. Frontage Road, Ste #412
- Rochester: 507 Apache Mall
- Roseville: 1595 Highway 36W, Space 815
- Saint Cloud: 4101 West Division St., Suite E24
- St Paul: 3001 White Bear Ave N, Suite 2028
- Woodbury: 9140 Hudson Road, Suite 504
More closings could also be coming. The final number and locations of stores that are closing has not yet been determined, the company stated in its news release. Ascena previously closed all Dressbarn stores, including 13 in Minnesota last year.
