MN Vikings Player Shot 4 Times In Washington DC

The rookie "is expected to make a full recovery," the Minnesota Vikings said in a statement.

Minnesota Vikings rookie defensive tackle Jaylen Twyman was hospitalized after he was shot four times in Washington, D.C. on Monday. Twyman "is expected to make a full recovery," the Vikings said in a statement.

Twyman was shot in the arm, leg, buttocks, and the shoulder, his agent Drew Rosenhaus told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Twyman was "one of several victims wounded" during the shooting, according to the Vikings.

Just after 5 p.m., police in D.C. responded to the 300 block of 50th Street on gunshots. At the scene, officers found two men with gunshot wounds. Two other men with gunshot wounds sought treatment at area hospitals, police said.

"We have been in direct contact with Jaylen and his family, and we are extremely thankful Jaylen is expected to make a full recovery," the team said. "At this time we will defer any further comment to the proper authorities."

The Vikings drafted Twyman in the sixth round of the 2021 draft.
