Walz To Discuss Ending Coronavirus Restrictions: Watch Livestream
Gov. Tim Walz is set to announce a timeline for ending statewide coronavirus restrictions as more Minnesotas get vaccinated.

MINNESOTA — Gov. Tim Walz Thursday is set to announce a timeline for when all coronavirus-related restrictions will end in Minnesota. Walz will announce his plan during a live address at 12 p.m. He will answer questions from the media at 1 p.m.
Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development Commissioner Steve Grove, Minnesota Department of Health Commissioner Jan Malcolm, and Minnesota Department of Education Commissioner Heather Mueller will also answer questions.
"As millions of Minnesotans are getting vaccinated, Governor Walz is making plans to wind down COVID-19 restrictions and get Minnesota back to business as usual," Walz's spokesperson, Teddy Tschann, said in a statement Wednesday.

Over 2 Million Minnesotans Complete COVID-19 Vaccine Series
More than 2 million Minnesotans, or over 45 percent of the state, have completed the COVID-19 vaccination process as of Wednesday. It took the state five weeks to reach the second million, three times as fast as it took to achieve the first million. Read more here.
On Wednesday, the health department reported 17 COVID-19 deaths and 1,267 new cases. Cases are down considerably from one month ago. A total of 2,127 cases were reported on April 6.
