When Will A Majority Of Minnesotans Be Fully Vaccinated?
The vast majority of Minnesotans could be vaccinated just before the Minnesota State Fair or even sooner.

MINNESOTA — More than 15 percent of Minnesotans are fully vaccinated against the coronavirus, and 25.7 percent of residents have received at least one dose. As the vaccination rate increases, Gov. Tim Walz has promised that more restrictions on businesses and gatherings will be lifted, pointing towards a return to some semblance of normal life for the state in the near future.
But when will that happen? Achieving "herd immunity" is the ultimate goal against COVID-19, when there simply aren't enough unprotected people for the virus to spread to.
Herd immunity for COVID-19 lies somewhere in 70 percent to 90 percent of the population being either fully vaccinated or someone who has been infected and recovered from the virus, according to the New York Times.

Under the current pace of vaccinations, 80 of Minnesota adults will be vaccinated by Aug. 20, according to projects from Minnesota Public Radio News. The current pace is just over 23,000 shots per day.
That would be just in time for the Minnesota State Fair, which is set for 2021.

As more vaccines are approved and hit the market, that date could be moved up. For example, if 60,000 Minnesotans were vaccinated a day, the state would hit the 80 percent threshold by May 6, notes MPR News.
