Woman Loses $60,000 In Match.com Scam
The daughter of the woman noticed the transactions while taking care of her bills.

SHAKOPEE, MN – An acquaintance on Match.com scammed a Minnesota woman out of $60,000, according to a media report. The woman's daughter reported to Shakopee police that while taking care of her mother's bills she noticed transfers cash to a man identified as "John Diaz."
The woman said her mother met the man on the dating site. Authorities traced the transactions through an intermediary in Texas, who forwarded the funds to a person in Nigeria. Federal authorities were able to seize $7,250 in September, according to the report.
The victim of the scam had been hospitalized for depression and short-term memory loss, according to her daughter.
