Brightmont Academy Opens Second Minnesota Campus in Apple Valley

Private school specializing in one-to-one instruction for K-12 students expands

APPLE VALLEY, Minn. – March 12, 2014 – Brightmont Academy, an accredited private school specializing in one-to-one instruction that just opened its first Minnesota campus in Plymouth last fall, has now expanded with a second campus in Apple Valley scheduled to open today.

Brightmont Academy brings the first one-to-one school option to Minnesota with the Apple Valley and Plymouth campuses, where one experienced teacher works with one student throughout every learning session.  Brightmont Academy started 15 years ago in Washington State and now has nine campuses in four states. 

"As we have seen with our Plymouth campus, one-to-one instruction works,” said Laura Porter-Jones, Apple Valley campus director.  “When a student needs more than the traditional school can offer, Brightmont Academy creates a customized approach to improve learning outcomes for that individual.”

Brightmont Academy offers a flexible schedule and engaging learning environment.  Students have three enrollment options. They can attend full time and earn a diploma issued by Brightmont Academy, take courses to earn credit toward a diploma issued by their local high school or receive K-12 tutoring support.  

“We have already experienced how much the greater Minneapolis area values education and welcomes a variety of instructional choices with the success of the Plymouth campus,” said Ruth Wilson, the founder of Brightmont Academy. “We are excited to offer Apple Valley the same new solution that serves student needs exclusively through one-to-one instruction.”

“One-to-one instruction at Brightmont Academy fully individualizes the learning process to effectively address a wide range of learning challenges,” Wilson said. “This is a proven model that addresses a range of student needs—from those with learning difficulties to who would like to accelerate their studies.”

This campus will serve the growing interest in customized instruction in the Apple Valley region, including: Lakeville, Rosemont, Burnsville, Bloomington, Eagan and Eden Prairie.

Brightmont Academy, Apple Valley, is currently accepting enrollments and holding open house on Thursday, March 20 from 4PM to 6PM.
