Eden Prairie Chamber Endorses School Referendum

School officials say that without the tax increase referendum they will have to implement $10 million in cuts next year.

Eden Prairie Schools are asking voters Nov. 4 to approve a tax increase. The referendum has two questions. If the first passes, school officials estimate that it would increase taxes on a home valued at $325,000 by $8 a month, or about $96 a year.

Without the first question passing, school officials say they would have to implement $10 million in cuts next year.

The second question on the referendum is dependent on the first measure being approved. If the second question were to pass as well, it would add another $5 a month. Combined the two measures would, according to school officials, raise taxes on a $325,000 home by $156 a year.
