Eden Prairie Man Charged with Altering His Paychecks
By adding a "1" in front of the owed amount, police say Jordan Evens stole $4,000.

Eden Prairie Police believe a 28-year-old Eden Prairie man alterd his paychecks by adding a "1" in front of the owed amount.
Jordan Richard Evens has been charged with one count of offering a forged check, a felony.
Evens worked at The Wire Masters on Shady Oak Road in Eden Prairie. Staff at the business told police that Evens had added $1,000 to his paychecks by adding a numerical "1" before the pay amount four times between Dec. 12 and Dec 28, 2012.Â

Evens allegedly deposited the checks into a bank account. A fifth check on Jan. 4 was stopped before payment was received.
As a result of the altered checks, police say Evens deposited $4,000 that he was not entitled.Â
