Nine Eden Prairie Students Honored Nationally

Nine Eden Prairie students were recently honored by the Center for Talent Development at Northwestern University.

Nine Eden Prairie students were honored by the Center for Talent Development at Northwestern University’s Midwest Academic Talent Search (NUMATS.)

Ninth graders Kieran Arora, Winston Chen, Mitchell Cave, Catherine Fabel, Mikhail Korolev, Kelly Pu, Nibir Sarma, Amy Wang, and eighth grader Patrick Yang were in the top 2 percent of the more than 20,000 gifted students nationwide to qualify for the ceremony.

Students in grades three through six take the EXPLORE test, which until recently was administered to students in eighth grade. NUMATS students in grades six through nine now take the ACT or SAT tests. The tests are geared toward students who “hit the ceiling” of standardized tests and will benefit from special programming to reach their full potential.
