
Donald Hanson, a World War II veteran and Heritage of Edina resident, died on Nov. 1 at the age 92.
Hanson, who also lived in Richfield and Minneapolis, served in the 8th Air Force from 1943 to 1946.
"Don was a man of remarkable intelligence and rare sensitivity who approached everything he did with a great deal of heart," read his Star Tribune obituary. "He was a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, generous friend, and passionate World War II historian."
He is survived by his daughter, Polly; stepson, Ralph; granddaughters, Samantha and Jessica; and by four great-grandchildren.
A service is being held 1 p.m. Saturday at Gill Brothers, 5801 Lyndale Ave. S., Mpls.
