Report: Edina Galleria Could See Significant Upgrades

According to the Minneapolis-St. Paul Business Journal, the Edina Galleria's new owners are planning a major expansion of the structure.

Citing anonymous sources, the newspaper reports Hines Global REIT is contemplating adding retail space where surface parking currently stands, adding at least one restaurant space, and "significantly" upgrading the upscale mall's common areas.

"Galleria is on an upward trajectory and we want to keep the center modern, fresh and full of the best tenants in the upper Midwest," Hines Vice President of Retail Luis Serrat told the paper in an email confirming expansion plans.
