Edina High School Writers And Publication Among Winners In Gold Medallion Contest

Four Edina High School students received recognition from the Minnesota Scholastic Press Association for their stories featured in the Zephyrus student news publication. During the conference held Oct. 8, EHS yearbook, Whigrean also received an award.

Recipients of individual awards include, Dedeepya Guthikonda, first place winner for Newspaper Sports Story and third place winner for Broadcast Feature Story; Ellen Mi, second place winner for Newspaper Feature Story; Matthew Hovelsrud, third place winner for Newspaper Editorial/Opinion; and Izzy Wagener, fifth place winner for Newspaper News Story. Whigrean received a Full Publication award.

MHSPA provides recognition of outstanding publications and exceptional student work. The Gold Medallion Awards represent the best work published by Minnesota high school media.
