Edina Police Officer Jaren Zech Earns DWI Hat Trick Award

The award was given after Zech arrested three suspects during one shift on January 22.

Edina, Minn., May 12, 2021 – For his work arresting three suspects for driving while intoxicated during a single shift, Edina Police Officer Jaren Zech was presented earlier this month with the DWI Hat Trick Award by the Minnesota Office of Traffic Safety.

“The Edina Police Department takes DWI enforcement very seriously because we have seen the impact impaired driving can have on traffic safety,” said Sgt. Nate Mendel. “Jaren’s continued diligence in DWI enforcement helps to keep the motoring public safer.”

Zech has been a member of the department since November 2016, and currently serves as Edina’s DWI Enforcement Officer. The award was given after Zech arrested three suspects during one shift on Friday, Jan. 22.
