Edina's Champion Synchronized Ice Skating Team Hosts National Training Festival
Edina's skating team boasts the top junior competitors in the country.

Edina's Team Braemar, a group of synchronized ice skaters, are hosting a training festival for the U.S. Figure Skating Association—the first time the national festival has been held in Minnesota.
Almost 150 synchronized skaters from around the country will train in the festival, which runs from Friday through Sunday in Prior Lake
The Edina team won the 2013 U.S. Junior Synchronized Skating championship, its fourth such title in the past five seasons.
Here's the team's quick synopsis of what exactly the sport is:
Synchronized skating is a highly technical form of team skating characterized by speed, accuracy, intricate formations and transitions. Known by their fans as “synchro,” it is team sport consisting of teams of 8-20 skaters who perform side by side on the ice.
And here's more on the team:
Team Braemar is one of the country’s top synchronized figure skating teams and is dedicated to helping motivated figure skaters train, develop, and achieve to their highest potential.
Team Braemar is proud to represent the United States internationally, and for the 2013-14 season, the Junior Team has again earned the designation of Team USA. It is the team’s eighth consecutive season with the Team USA designation — a significant accomplishment. In addition, the Novice Team won 2nd place at the 2012 U.S. National competition. This year, Team Braemar will include both a Junior and a Novice team and is currently recruiting interested skaters for the season.
