Animal chiropractic, acupuncture and massage therapy are services that require practitioners who are knowledgeable in the application of these therapies specifically to pets. Cats and dogs have unique anatomies and bear weight quite differently from humans, leading to biomechanical differences. In Minnesota, practitioners who wish to provide chiropractic and acupuncture services to animals must have special training, be registered with the Minnesota Board and have a referral from a licensed veterinarian.
