As of July 25, per the Governor’s Executive Order 20-81, people in Minnesota are required to wear a face covering in all public indoor spaces and indoor businesses, unless they are alone. Additionally, workers are required to wear a face covering when working outdoors in situations where social distancing cannot be maintained.
Edina has required masks in retail establishments and other public spaces since July 6. Edina’s masking policy was to be in effect until the Governor enacts a statewide order requiring face coverings superseding the local order, the State’s peacetime emergency declaration ends, the City Council rescinds the order, or Dec. 31 – whichever comes first. Because of the statewide order, Edina’s order will end at 11:59 p.m. Friday, June 24.
