Traffic Watch: Highway 100 Closure Next Two Weekends

Motorists traveling on Highway 100 in St. Louis Park, Golden Valley and Edina will encounter a detour on both directions of Highway 100.

ROSEVILLE, Minn. – Motorists traveling on Highway 100 in St. Louis Park, Golden Valley and Edina will encounter a detour on both directions of Highway 100 as crews close the road on two consecutive weekends to demolish and reconstruct a bridge over the highway.

At 10 p.m., Friday, Oct. 31, both directions of Highway 100 between Interstate 394 and Highway 62 will close. The road will reopen by 5 a.m. Monday, Nov. 3.

Additionally, at 10 p.m., Nov. 7, the highway will again close between I-394 and Highway 62. The road will reopen by 5 a.m., Monday, Nov. 10.

Motorists will be detoured around the closure using I-394, Highway 169 and Highway 62. Motorists should allow for extra travel time and find alternative routes.

Reconstructing the railway bridge is part of a 2.5 year construction project that will improve interchange safety and mobility on Highway 100, and support economic growth along the corridor. The entire project includes adding an auxiliary lane, reconfiguring and reconstructing the Minnetonka Boulevard and Highway 7 bridges and ramps, and building noise walls along the 1.6 mile stretch road.

Performing these repairs now will extend the lifespan of the bridges and prevent the need for more costly repairs in the future.
