
Did you know that one of the best treatments for arthritis is free? Brisk 15-20 minute walks two to three times daily can help increase your pet’s metabolism, burn calories, improve flexibility, rebuild muscle and relieve pain. It can also be mentally stimulating (for both of you!). You may need to build up to this slowly – never exercise to the point where your pet appears distressed or more sore afterwards. If your pet is too painful to walk very far, check with your veterinarian about safe activity and additional supportive ideas such as passive range of motion exercises, acupuncture, medications and special diets.
