Why does my dog eat grass?
Think your dog is eating grass because he or she is sick? Think again!

We’re not sure where this idea came from, but many people believe that dogs eat grass when they feel sick to make themselves vomit. A survey by UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine found that this isn’t the case. Many dogs eat grass when they aren’t sick. Dogs who are sick are not more likely to eat grass than dogs who aren’t sick. Dogs also rarely vomit after eating grass. The researchers also did not find dietary differences between dogs who eat grass and who don’t eat grass, suggesting that grass eating isn’t in response to a dietary deficiency.
