Recycling 101, Metal In Fridley

Beverage and food cans are great to recycle. Before you drop them in the recycling container, clean the contents of any food waste with a rinse and a 5 second shake. Here are some examples of types of metal you can recycle:

• Food cans
• Beverage cans

*Labels are okay to leave on!

Tips and tricks:

• Make sure every piece of metal is larger than a credit card
• No aluminum foil soiled with food
• No loose pop tabs or bottle caps
• No razor blades, needles, or sharps

Scrap Metal

Small engines and scrap metal like lawn mowers, snow plows, generators, metal fencing, charcoal grills, posts and gutters can’t be recycled curbside but are accepted at our Recycling Drop-off Days for free. Find other accepted items and pricing on the Recycling webpage.
