Public Hearing for Bassett Creek Watershed Management Plan

There will be a public hearing 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 14, 2013, before the board on a proposed minor plan amendment to the Bassett Creek Watershed Management Plan in room A-2400 of the Hennepin County Government Center. The public hearing will provide an additional opportunity for the public to learn about the Bassett Creek Watershed Management Commission's projects and provide comments.

The proposed amendment adds three water quality improvement projects to the commission’s Capital Improvement Program. The Schaper Pond project will
reduce phosphorus loading to Sweeney Lake in the city of Golden Valley. The Briarwood/Dawnview project will treat stormwater runoff from a residential area in the city of Golden Valley before discharge to Bassett Creek. The third project is an in-lake alum treatment to reduce internal phosphorus loading in Twin Lake in the City of Golden Valley. The preliminary cost estimate for these three projects is $958,000.
