Golden Valley City Equity Forum Is Scheduled On October 8

The City of Golden Valley’s second Building An Equitable Golden Valley virtual forum will focus on voter access. It will be held Oct 8, 6–7:30 pm, via Cisco Webex and will be broadcast on CCX Channel 16 and streamed on ccxmedia.org and the City’s Facebook page. Residents and community members are encouraged to tune in and participate via Facebook or phone.

Voting is a fundamental right and privilege of every American citizen. Over time, barriers were erected that gave some groups more of a voice than others. This moderated forum will explore the historical context of the voting process, and panelists will discuss current barriers to voting that people face, including COVID.

During the discussion, viewers are encouraged to submit questions via the City’s call center or Facebook.
