Golden Valley Police Department Reporting Increased Theft From Vehicle And Garage Burglaries

Over the last month, the Golden Valley Police Department has responded to several incidents of overnight theft from autos & garage burglar.

Over the last month, the Golden Valley Police Department (GVPD) has responded to several incidents of overnight theft from autos and garage burglaries. Almost all of these events involved unknown suspects entering unlocked vehicles parked in driveways and stealing miscellaneous items. In some cases, suspects used the garage door opener left in those unlocked vehicles to enter the garage and in one instance, suspects entered the home through an unlocked service door while residents were sleeping, stole the keys to a vehicle parked outside, and stole the vehicle.

The GVPD wants to remind residents by locking your vehicle and removing garage door openers, you can significantly decrease your chances of becoming a victim. Please call 911 immediately if you see or hear anything suspicious.
