Golden Valley Police Department Reporting Increased Theft From Vehicle And Garage Burglaries

Over the last month, the Golden Valley Police Department (GVPD) has responded to several incidents of overnight theft from autos and garage burglaries. Almost all of these events involved unknown suspects entering unlocked vehicles parked in driveways and stealing miscellaneous items. In some cases, suspects used the garage door opener left in those unlocked vehicles to enter the garage and in one instance, suspects entered the home through an unlocked service door while residents were sleeping, stole the keys to a vehicle parked outside, and stole the vehicle.

The GVPD wants to remind residents by locking your vehicle and removing garage door openers, you can significantly decrease your chances of becoming a victim. Please call 911 immediately if you see or hear anything suspicious.

These incidents occurred in the:

• 2400 block of Kyle Ave N
• 2600 block Kyle Ave N
• 2400 block of Zane Ave N
• 200 block of Janalyn Cir
• 4100 block of Leber Lane
• 4400 block of Sunset Ridge
• 2100 block of Mary Hills Dr
• 3200 block Manor Dr
• 2200 block of Regent Ave N
• 3000 block of Orchard Ave N
• 3100 block of Perry Ave N
• 3300 block of Lee Ave N
• 5600 block of Glenwood Ave
