For the past year, Minnesota has been a focus of worldwide attention as we reckon with the prevalence of systemic racism in response to the public killing of George Floyd, the following trial and conviction, and the associated protests and civil unrest. The City of Golden Valley stands firmly in its commitment to continuing racial equity work and is rooted in its core values of courage, accountability, inclusion, and communication.

The City understands more deeply than ever the need to listen, learn, and advance change. We recognize building a community with equal access to opportunities and resources for all stakeholders requires the voices of our residents, businesses, and visitors. As we work together, take care of yourselves and one another, and please listen to and treat each other with compassion and respect.

We want to hear your voices. As the City continues its equity work, there will be opportunities to participate and provide input. Please watch the City website, newsletter, and social media for updates.
