Major Construction Project Along Winnetka Avenue To Start Thursday

From the City of Golden Valley:

A CenterPoint Energy utility reconstruction project is scheduled to start Thursday, Sept 25 along Winnetka Avenue between Harold Avenue and Golden Valley Road.

The three- to six-week project will have a significant impact on traffic because of lane shifts and closures, but full access will be maintained to all businesses and homes. Detours will be set up to encourage through-traffic to use Wisconsin Avenue or Rhode Island Avenue for Highway 55 access (get detour maps).

Also, for three to four days southbound Winnetka Avenue will be closed between Western Avenue and Highway 55. The exact date of this closure is yet to be determined, but signs will be placed on Winnetka Avenue before the closure, and detours will direct traffic to use General Mills Blvd. or Glenwood/Jersey Avenue for access (get detour maps).
