In an urgent Facebook plea, the Minneapolis Police Department posted a request for help this afternoon.

According to police, a woman in an apartment located in the 2100 block of Portland Avenue South was taking shower around noon Wednesday. She had placed her 8-month-old baby boy in his car seat.

When she got out of the shower, the baby, named Carlos Orozco, was gone.

In a press release, police said Carlos is Hispanic and not yet mobile. He was wearing a onesy with blue stripes and red sleeves. The front of the onesy had a “#1 Slugger” logo on it.

KSTP reported that police think a friend of the mother, Isabell Diaz Castillo, might have the baby. Police told KSTP that Castillo is 5 feet 4 inches tall, about 30 years old, and light-build.
