Survived by loving wife, Nancy; children, Margaret (John) Fernandez, Elizabeth (Andrew) Spohn, and Michael (Jessica) Huntley; sister, Susan (Charles) McQuaid; grandchildren, Maria and Alex Fernandez, Madeline, Katherine Dimler and Luke Spohn, and Jacob Huntley. 

Richard graduated from De La Salle High School and the University of Minnesota.  He worked for Fairview Systems for 42 years and was a longtime member of St. Margaret Mary Parish.  He was committed to service and volunteered his time on the Human Rights Commission, School and Parish Boards, and as a coach.  Richard was an incredible husband and loving father, who knew the importance of family, enjoyed history, traditions, a role model for many.  Above all he showed integrity and loyalty as a strong and fair leader during his career.  He was a friend to many and a supporter of his church.  He will be missed by all he touched, gone to live in a better world.  God Bless you, we love you.
