Calvary Hosts Evening of Activities for Ages 0-5 & Their Parents on Feb. 1

GOLDEN VALLEY, MINN. (Jan. 17, 2019) – “Every child is an artist,” said the famous creative genius Pablo Picasso. He added, “The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up.” Taking Picasso’s words to heart, the early childhood programs of Calvary Lutheran Church, Golden Valley, Minn., invite all families with young children (ages 0-5) to enjoy an evening of art together on Friday, Feb. 1.
Called “ARTapalooza,” the event will feature free hands-on activities from 5:45 to 7:30 p.m.; an optional pizza dinner will be served from 5 to 5:45 p.m. (free-will offering). Calvary is located at 7520 Golden Valley Road in Golden Valley.
Please RSVP to Debby Bromander at dbromander@calvary.org or 763.545.9042.
“ARTapalooza” participants will visit a variety of stations to explore art and its many different forms and mediums, including plunger paint, sculpture and a collage buffet. A special station for families with infants will also be part of the line-up. All participants will receive complimentary resources to help them expand their creative experiences at home.
Mary Steinbicker, otherwise known as “Library Mary” at Golden Valley Library, will be a special guest at “ARTapalooza.” Mary is a Youth Services Librarian who hosts many story times and child-centered activities at the Golden Valley branch of the Hennepin County Library System.
Offering pre-K education, as well as full-time and flexible childcare, Calvary’s early childhood programs are a ministry of Calvary Lutheran Church. The mission of Calvary is to lead people into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ. Established in 1946, Calvary offers five weekly worship services and a wide variety of activities for children, youth and adults. For more information, visit calvary.org or call 763-545-5659.
