Scholastic Chess Championship Coming Up!

All chess players Kindergarden through 6th grade are invited to participate in The School Chess Association Statewide Primary/Elementary championship tournament March 14th and 15th at Breck School in Golden Valley.

Previous tournament experience is not required, and players do not need to be part of a school chess team to participate. Each participant will play seven rounds of chess – win, lose or draw. Byes are allowed if players cannot participate in individual rounds.

Over $2000 in individual and team trophies and medals will be awarded; additionally, trophies will be presented from the Priyanka Foundation for the top girl in the K-3rd grade section and 4th – 6th grade section.

Interested participants should go to the SCA website at www.schoolchess.org and click on the blue “Statewide Tournament” button at the top right of the page to download a registration form.
