Winkler Introduces Bill That Would Allow Perpich to Operate Woodbury School

According to the Pioneer Press, Rep. Ryan Winkler's bill "cleared its first hurdle" Tuesday.

Golden Valley-based Perpich Center for Arts Education is looking to take over Woodbury’s Crosswinds Arts and Science School.

On Tuesday, March 12, the Pioneer Press reported that the House Education Finance Committee will support a bill that will allow Perpich to run the school.

According to the article, Rep. Ryan Winkler first introduced the bill that now needs to clear the Government Operations Committee.

If Perpich can't secure funding from the Legislature by April 1, South Washington County Schools would claim the building, under an agreement reached Wednesday by the East Metro Integration District, which oversees Crosswinds, according to a Star Tribune story.
