Early in my childhood I was drawn to the arts. I recall sketching at my desk in 5th grade during class, when my teaching walked over, took my notebook and asked "Shelly would you like to share what you're doing during class instead of participating?" I looked up imbarressed. I was shy and quiet so... I didn't say a word. At the end of class that same teacher came over to me and asked me "You like doing art Shelly?" She said "Would you like to join a special program for artist like you, it's in our school and it's free." Well... to make a long story short... I joined the artist group, there was only a few of us. We got to do something centered around the arts once or twice a week. Sometimes we'd even get to go on a field trip to a local art museum!
Later as an adult I attended the University of Minnesota to study the arts furthermore. I had a great time learning and doing my own thing. Over the years doing my art I thought... I should have paid closer attention in my proportion classes as well in my color mixing classes. One regret I have is not learning how to construct my own canvases. I'm just getting into painting large portraits which brings me great joy! The largest painting I've done is 40X38 and the largest pencil sketch I've done is a 40X40. Well...the rest is history. If I had only taken those classes on constructing canvases... I would be able to make the canvas dimensions to my hearts desire... or as big as I wanted it to be.
Most important all the contents of my art have come from my deepest desirable imagination! I'm an Artist in action...an Impact Artist! I tend to focus on my favorite people and things.

I love being an artist! Remember this Jehovah and his Son Jesus the Christ created all things (Romans 1:20 and Revelation 3:14). I'm their biggest fan! I appreciate all the beauty in their creations and I try to imitate what they have shown me for what I do is their work and not mine! Thanks for engaging in my ideas.
