Man Dies In Accident At Hopkins Supervalu Grocery Warehouse

A 51-year-old man died in an accident Sunday.

Hopkins Police said a 51-year-old man died in an accident at the Supervalu grocery warehouse on Sunday.

The Watertown Public Opinion reported that the man was pinned under a piece of equipment at the Supervalu Food Distribution Center.

KARE 11 reported the incident happened at 2:35 p.m. at the warehouse located in the 300 block of 2nd Avenue South.

Teamsters Local 120 identified the man as Perry Goffard: “Our thoughts and prayers go out to Perry’s friends and family in this difficult time; he will be missed.”

Supervalu released the following statement:

“Today, there was a tragic accident at our Hopkins grocery warehouse resulting in the death of one of our employees. This is an extremely sad day and Supervalu offers our deepest sympathy to his family, friends and fellow employees. We are working with authorities as they investigate this accident.”
