Southdale Center Grants Prom Wishes with Operation Glass Slipper

On March 9-10, Fairy Godmother volunteers will provide numerous high school students with free prom gowns and accessories

This March, Southdale Center will partner with Operation Glass Slipper to help outfit hundreds of high school students in prom dresses and accessories in preparation of their special night, free of charge.

Operation Glass Slipper provides full prom outfits to girls throughout Minnesota and western Wisconsin who would otherwise be unable to attend their school's dance due to difficult financial or family circumstances. During a scheduled one-on-one appointment, students are accompanied by a Fairy Godmother volunteer to help find the perfect dress and accompanying shoes, purse and jewelry. Minor dress alterations will be available to students from the Minneapolis and St. Paul area at no additional cost.

The event will take place at Southdale Center on Saturday, March 9 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Sunday, March 10 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in suite 2015 located under Dave and Busters. An appointment is required for all high school students wishing to receive prom attire and appointment slots are limited. Students must bring a signed referral form and school I.D. to be admitted at the event. For more information on referral forms and available appointments, please visit online. Registration for appointments will close on Thursday, March 7 at 8 p.m. CT.
