2017 Junior Miss Inver Grove Heights Princess, Katie Mitchell

For my first service project I wanted to do something to help Neighbors. Neighbors Inc does a lot to help people in Inver Grove Heights. I started by doing a food drive. My goal was to get 65 pounds of food for them. I asked friends, family and community members to donate food. My mom drove me all over collecting people’s donations for Neighbors. The people at Neighbors are so nice. I took my food in and they weighed it. We collected 68 pounds. Then I spent the morning at Neighbors helping. We helped sort and label the foods. It takes a lot of people to keep Neighbors going.
