Babcock & Barbara Residents, Be Sure To Plan Alternate Routes This Weekend
Motorists are advised to use extreme caution when traveling along Babcock Trail during this time because of the marathon participants that will be present in the northbound traffic lane.

On Saturday May 5, the BEST Foundation will be holding its annual May Day 5-kilometer Walk & Run.

The race will start at approximately 9:30 a.m. at .
The first mile of the route will run along northbound Babcock Trail (County Road #73) from Barbara Avenue to 70th Street East (County Road #26).

Babcock Trail will be closed to through traffic from Barbara Avenue to 70th Street for approximately 30 minutes.
Inver Grove Heights police officers and reserve officers will be at intersections during the road closure directing traffic to alternative routes available.
Local residents will be allowed to exit their driveways onto Babcock Trail and take the most direct route out of the area. Motorists are advised to use extreme caution when traveling along Babcock Trail during this time because of the race participants that will be present in the northbound traffic lane.
Bike Patrol officers will ride the route with race participants to assist with traffic control for local residents on Babcock Trail.
Marked police squad cars will also be leading and following the race along Babcock Trail.
